About Me

The Happy Plum is a lifestyle blog dedicated to sharing my love of crafting, collecting, and creating. It's also a space to share my (sometimes failed) efforts at organizing, natural living, and home DIY. I am constantly striving to make our house a home that reflects our family and brings us joy. I love playful, bright colors and happy spaces. No one has ever described by decorating as sophisticated, but it is always enthusiastic.

I am truly a magpie if ever there was one. I collect Buddhas and giraffes, vintage Pyrex and globes. I hoard stash craft supplies and kawaii stationary. But by far the most prominent is my toy collection. I adore Hello Kitty, My Little Ponies, and cute figures from Japan. I also collect Blythe dolls and Ball Jointed Dolls from Asia. I run an Etsy shop where I sell hand crafted clothing and accessories for dolls. My doll collection also introduced me to photography, and you can find my doll photos on Flickr. While this blog isn't specifically about dolls and toys, they will sneak in from time to time as they influence so much of my crafting.

I am wife to Mr. Plum, a high school teacher, and mommy to the Little Plum, a very busy toddler. Mr. Plum collects video games and Legos, and the Little Plum is building quite a toy collection herself. We like to play! We also have four fur babies - one dog, two cats, and a rabbit. I am on a constant quest to wrangle hair balls!

I hope you find something here that you enjoy. My house may not fit the mold of most home style blogs (I've realize that most grown women don't have entire rooms dedicated to Hello Kitty!) but I hope it provided a unique perspective and inspires you to live your passions. Welcome!
